During her time at Harris Brenna served as the project manager for Harris’ first k-12 STEM education program bringing science into the classroom in Florida and Colorado through a partnership with the Space Foundation. The goal of Harris’ collaboration with the Space Foundation was to interest younger students in considering STEM careers and taking courses in high school that will position them to successfully pursue STEM studies in college. These events reached hundreds of K-12 students at three schools in Melbourne the first year growing to six schools in Colorado Springs the second year. 

In her role with Drive Electric Florida Brenna planned and managed their first public event bringing in external sponsors, highlighting funding opportunities, and building community and member relationships. This event was picked up by Spectrum News 13 for the Orlando, FL market with Brenna serving as an electric vehicle adoption expert in various media interviews.

As a senior account manager at Distinctive Edge, Brenna brings deep experience in the areas of communication, strategic marketing, community outreach and events – in order to help organizations achieve consistent messaging and visibility. She is a leader in strategic communication, internal and external communication, event planning, and management.

Brenna has held numerous corporate communications roles with multiple defense contractors such as CSC (nowDXC Technology) where she worked as a materials editor supporting the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s International Counterproliferation Weapons of Mass Destruction contract. Followed by a move from Arlington, Virginia to Huntsville, Alabama she took on a role focused on marketing, communications and proposal work for high-performance computing programs supporting NASA and NOAA contracts. Additionally, Brenna held various roles on the communications team for Harris’ (now L3Harris) former Space and Intelligence sector working in the areas of space antennas and structures, energy solutions, hosted payloads and GPS, mission solutions, universe exploration, small satellites, and optical payloads.

As a consultant Brenna recently worked as the Associate Director of Communications and Research for Drive Electric Florida(DEFL) focused on advancing the energy, economic, and environmental security of the state of Florida by promoting the growth of electric vehicle ownership and accompanying infrastructure. In this role she focused on external and internal communication, social media, events, and research including leading efforts in electric vehicle education, equity, and outreach. At the end of the first contract she was asked back to continue supporting DEFL as a marketing and communications consultant managing their events and social media for an additional year while they transitioned to an association management model.

Brenna holds a B.A in Communications Advertising from The University of Alabama and a Master’s of Public Administration from Florida Institute of Technology.
