Steven Cinelli


Steven is a creative strategist, banker, advisor, and financial technology executive. His career has been focused on developing opportunities, structures, models, and vision for creating stakeholder value.

His specialties include corporate finance, banking, alternative and crowd finance, financial inclusion, business modeling, financial engineering, LBOs, private equity, and capital markets, with broad engagement in advanced fintech, including marketplace finance, payments, AI, distributed ledger technology, and virtual currencies.

Steven has consummated over $6 billion in transaction volume globally, across numerous industry groups such as technology, consumer products, financial services, media, fintech, and agtech. Has successfully built multi-disciplined teams in early and later-stage companies. He is a three-time founder.

An incessant researcher, Steven has developed models for companies and industries, focusing on how to improve performance and growth. He enjoys providing unique and off-the-grid approaches to corporate modeling and paths to value creation. He serves as a futurist and avant-garde contributor for select companies as board member and advisor.

Steven is a published author on many areas of fintech, socio-economics, and capital markets. Serve as a mentor and advisor to three of the leading incubators and accelerators with a focus on fintech. His writings have been featured in Housing Wire, The Huffington Post, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, INMAN News, and The Street.

Currently in a doctorate program focused on socio-economics and post-capitalism, he also serves as a Professor of Practice for the University of Johannesburg with a specialty on the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which includes AI, IoT, Fintech, Gene-editing, virtual currencies, and augmented reality.

Steven earned his BSC in Economics & Marketing from Santa Clara University, an MBA in International Finance and Management from Golden Gate University, and is a Doctoral Candidate in International Economics at Grenoble Ecole de Management.
